Why Theatre? Beyond improved self-‐confidence, better public speaking and performance skills, and ensemble building, according to a University of California – Los Angeles study, students involved in the arts tend to have higher academic performance and better-‐standardized test scores – nearly 100 points better on the SAT according to a separate study by The College Board. Furthermore, here at Cypress Falls, you’ll be a part of a program that has an esteemed tradition of excellence.
We have a THEATRE class for you! Acting Classes
Theatre 1 – Is a class designed to teach the foundations of acting, including warm-‐ups, an understanding of the anatomy of the voice, character building, duet acting, and the fundamentals of the theatre.
Technical Theatre Classes Technical Theatre 1 – This course includes development and application of skills and basic theories of design in color, drawing, lighting, costuming, props, and interpretation in stage design.
Theatre 2 – Students explore more styles and methodologies in the theatre including Shakespeare, Uta Hagen, and Sanford Meisner.
Advanced Technical Theatre – Students in this course will work directly on productions in class. Instructor approval is required.
Theatre 3 & 4 – Students take a more self-‐ directed approach to their learning as they explore and apply their interests in the theatre to projects and productions.
