Awarded annually to qualified students entering first year from Windsor-Essex County secondary schools with a minimum 75% scholarship average and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students enrolled in History (including the history of New France). Students must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario. $16,000 Windsor Green Engineering Scholarships Value: $16,000 ($2,000 x 8 terms). Up to four scholarships awarded annually to full-time first-year students who have chosen Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Environmental option) Eligible candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) meeting OSAP requirements for residency and financial need. Based on academic excellence. Candidates must have a minimum 80% overall entrance average from high school or college, and must maintain a minimum in-course cumulative average of 75%.

$20,000, The Chancellor Jackman Scholarship ($2,500 x 8 terms) Up to three Scholarships of $20,000 ($5000 x 4 years), are available to Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements entering a program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences directly from an Ontario High School. Students must have a minimum scholarship average of 90% and demonstrate financial need. Jackman Scholars are eligible for renewal in subsequent years provided they maintain a 80% in-course average in their program of study and have proven financial need. This fund was established in 1998 by the Jackman Foundation. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

$20,800 Ron W. Ianni Entrance Scholarship ($2600 x 8 semesters) Four awards valued up to $20,800 ($2600 x 8 semesters) are available to Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario who are entering any undergraduate program directly from an Ontario High School. Students must have a minimum scholarship average (based on final and interim grades as of May) of 95%, demonstrate financial need, and have developed strong leadership qualities through an ongoing commitment to school and community activities. Awards are renewable for subsequent terms on the condition that students maintain a minimum 80% cumulative average, and demonstrate financial need. Established in 1998 in honour of the late Dr. Ron W. Ianni, former President of the University of Windsor.

Agnes M. Ireland Award Up to three awards of at least $2,000 each awarded annually to outstanding graduates of J.L. Forster Collegiate Institute in Windsor, who have demonstrated financial need. Established in 1998 through the benefaction of Agnes M. Ireland.

Awards for Entering Students With Financial Need The "Awards for Entering Students With Financial Need" grouping allows applicants to complete one general application to be considered for several different need-based entrance awards. These awards are available to students coming directly from full-time high school studies. Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) in Ontario who meet Ontario Student Assistance Program Ontario residency requirements, and can demonstrate financial need. NOTE: To be considered for awards which fall under this category, candidates must also apply for OSAP assistance by June 1st.

Backstage Award Two awards valued up to $1000. Awarded to Year 1 students registered full-time in the School of Creative Arts/Music or the School of Dramatic Art for outstanding creative work in his/her final secondary school year. Creative work is considered to be the writing of plays, scores, lyrics, set design, underscoring, and work with lighting and sound. Performance students may be considered as well, provided that they also assisted backstage. Eligible candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), who meet the Ontario Student Assistance Program Ontario residency requirements, and who are facing proven financial hardship. Recipients must be in good academic standing. This award was established in 2004 in memory of Ethel May and Rowland Marshall. Apply on-line. Deadline: February 15.

Bill Eansor Award Value: $10,000 ($2,500 a year, renewable for three additional years with satisfactory academic standing) . This award is presented annually to an undergraduate student entering the University of Windsor in first year on the basis of leadership ability, community involvement, and academic standing. The applicant must be accepted for admission to the University of Windsor, be registered as a full-time student (minimum four courses per semester towards an undergraduate degree), and have a minimum entering average of 80%. Application forms available for download from the Student Awards website. Deadline: May 1.

Brian Keith Briggs Memorial Entrance Scholarship Offered annually to the applicant who, during his or her secondary school program, has shown the best balance among academic, athletic, and social leadership, provided that he or she has participated in some organized sports in the Town of LaSalle. See special rules for documentation required.

Canadian Italian Business & Professional Association Scholarships Interest from this trust will support annual awards for full-time undergraduate students entering their first year of Business Administration, Engineering and Science. Based on academic merit (minimum 80% entering average required) and demonstrated financial need. Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) who meet OSAP Ontario residency requirements. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Clancy Fisher Award One award made annually to a graduate of W.F. Herman Secondary School entering the University of Windsor. Applicants must have a minimum 70% entering average; leadership in school activities will also be considered. Apply through the Guidance Department, W.F. Herman Secondary School.

Dr. Elizabeth Reeve Kishkon Entrance Bursary The interest from this fund will support an entrance bursary for a first year student entering a Social Science program, with preference given to a female student. Based on academic standing (minimum 70% entering average) and financial need. The successful candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (includes those with Protected Persons status), who meets Ontario residency requirements, who demonstrates financial need. This award was established in honour of Dr. Elizabeth Reeve Kishkon, the first female Mayor of the City of Windsor and recipient of an honourary doctorate from the University of Windsor in 1986. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Eaves - Matthew Entrance Scholarship Interest from this trust will support one award to a student entering Year 1 in the Faculty of Human Kinetics. Based on a minimum entering average of 80% and financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Ed Lumley Bursary Several bursaries valued at $8000 will be awarded annually to students entering directly from a Windsor/Essex County high school, to full time studies at the University of Windsor. Eligible applicants must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. Recipients must commit to working with at least one mentor in an extracurricular activity throughout their undergraduate program. This bursary is not tenable with other major awards. Recipients may be considered for renewal in Year 2, 3 and 4 provided they continue to meet the eligibility requirements and submit a self-assessment letter and recommendation from their mentor each year. See Special Rules for additional requirements.

Eleanor Catherine Wallace Memorial Entrance Scholarship Approximately 24 scholarships of $5000 ($2500 x 2 semesters) will be awarded annually to full time undergraduate students entering directly from a Canadian high school. Based on academic merit (minimum entering average of 80%), leadership potential, commitment to community and participation in school activities. Students must submit a short essay demonstrating their worthiness of the award. Preference will be given to students in Art, Humanities and Social Science programs, however students in other program may be considered. All eligible student are encouraged to apply. Not tenable with other major awards.

Frank J. Ewasyshyn Electrical Engineering Entrance Scholarship One annual award to a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario and entering Electrical Engineering directly from high school, with a minimum entering average of 75% and demonstrated financial need. Established in 2000 by friends and colleagues, in honour of Frank J. Ewasyshyn. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Howard Pawley Entrance Award in Political Science Awarded annually to a student who intends to major in Political Science; International Relations Students may apply for this award as well. The award is granted based on academic merit and financial need, and may be combined with other awards. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need" .

Ian Douglas McIntosh Scholarship Interest from this trust will support an annual award to a student entering their first year of studies in the Odette School of Business. Based on proven financial need. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Karen G. Needham Award An annual award to a student graduating from a Windsor/Essex County secondary school who is entering the first year of undergraduate studies at the University of Windsor. Based on academic merit (minimum entering average of 80% is required) and demonstrated financial need. The award honours the memory of a valued, long-service employee of the Leddy Library, Karen G. Needham. Through her work as a library assistant, Karen was dedicated to helping local high-school students build the library research skills needed to prepare for a successful entry into university-level studies. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) in Ontario who meet Ontario Student Assistance Program Ontario residency requirements. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Kenneth and Rose Van Meer Memorial Entrance Scholarship This award is available to a gay male student registered full-time in Year 1 of the Honours Computer Science, Honours Communication Studies, or a Faculty of Science Honours program, with preference given to a Computer Science student. Based on good academic performance (minimum entering average of 80%) and demonstrated financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) who meet OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Preference will be given to a resident of Windsor or Essex County who has graduated from a Windsor or Essex County secondary school. Award is renewable in subsequent years, provided qualifying conditions are maintained.

Marie Gott Bursaries for Students at General Amherst & Villanova High Schools Value: up to $3500. Several bursaries awarded to students of General Amherst and Villanova High Schools. Based on good academic performance (minimum 75% entering average required) and proven financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario. Awards may be renewed for an additional three years provided all criteria are met.

Marilyn and Joseph Bolton Award Value: varies from year to year. Awarded annually to an entering student who is a graduate of J.L. Forster Secondary School. Based on academic merit (minimum entering average of 75% required) and financial need.

Mario Petretta Memorial Award Awarded to a full-time student entering Year 1 in the Faculty of Engineering. Based on academic achievement (minimum entering average of 80% required) and proven financial need. Eligible candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario; Candidates must have attended a high school in Windsor or Essex County. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Meharry Drama in Education Bursary Interest from this fund will support one bursary annually for a student in Year 1 of the Drama in Education Program with financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Michael Hung Hang Chiu Memorial Entrance Award Value $2000. Awarded annually to a student entering Year 1 Engineering directly from secondary school on the basis of academic achievement (minimum 75% entering average required) and financial need. Established in 1987 through the Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (Ontario) Education Foundation, by the parents and family of Michael Chiu, who graduated from the University of Windsor in 1965 (Civil Engineering) and died in 1974. To be considered for this award, you must apply for "Awards for Entering Students with Financial Need".

Odette Family Entrance Award in Business Administration Ten entrance scholarships valued up to $5000 each will be awarded annually to Canadian and Permanent Resident students residing in Ontario, who are entering directly from an Ontario High School, to the Business Administration program. Based on scholastic merit (minimum entering average of 80%), citizenship (must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident residing in Ontario), with demonstrated financial need. Recipients may not simultaneously hold another major scholarship. These awards have been established through donations from Louis L. Odette and Edmund Odette through the OSOTF initiative. Rotary Club of Windsor - Roseland Bursary Two awards of $1,000, one each to Holy Names and Vincent Massey Secondary Schools. Minimum entering average of 70% is required. Bursaries are awarded based on financial need, and documented contributions to the community and school. (see special rules for documentation required).

Shaughnessy Cohen Memorial Scholarship Available to a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (includes those with Protected Persons status) student residing in Ontario who is entering a program in the Faculty of Arts or Social Science directly from an Ontario High School. Students must have a minimum entering average of 85%, and demonstrate financial need. Candidates must submit a 250-word essay which explains how their chosen program of study will benefit the public interest. The fund was established in 1999 by the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers' Association and Canadian Automobile Dealers Association to commemorate Shaughnessy Cohen's ardent support of the automotive industry and the community of Windsor.

Sigma Chi Leadership Award Awarded annually to an entering student who has demonstrated leadership skills and is involved in extracurricular activities at school and/or volunteer activities/involvement within their community. A minimum entering average of 80% is required. Established in 2014 by the Sigma Chi Fraternity, one of the largest fraternities in the world, whose purpose is to foster the ideas of friendship, justice and learning. Yves Landry Memorial Scholarship Up to eight awards valued at $5,000 and $2,000 will be available to students entering directly from an Ontario High School, in either the Business Administration or Engineering programs. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario with demonstrated financial need. The award may be renewable in subsequent years of study provided the student maintains a minimum cumulative average of 80% and has proven financial need. This scholarship was established in 1998 in honour of the memory of Yves Landry, former executive head of Chrysler Canada.
