Library News & Notes ~ Libraries are places of opportunity for all. ~
Welcome to Harborview Library! The school library is a primary source for information and curriculum support. The school library program functions as the information center for the school by providing access to a full range of information resources, in both print and electronic format, and opportunities to acquire information literacy skills. The mission of the school library program is to ensure that all students and staff become literate, lifelong learners and effective and responsible users and producers of ideas and information. The library program has some exciting opportunities in store for your child this year: Our curriculum will be promoting the very best of children's literature to your child with activities designed to help students enjoy the stories even more. We will be doing our very best to get (or keep) your children "hooked on reading" by recommending specific reading materials to each individual. At each grade level, students will be learning research and computer skills specifically suited to their developmental needs. Special events may include author visits, a book fair, and reading contests. If you would like to volunteer to help in the library, please let me know. We'd love to have you. Parents, if you would like your own library card, please let me know and Ms. Leary will create one for you. You will be able to check out books for your family. Our Library Schedule Monday: Ms. Harmon, Mr. Eddy, Tuesday: Ms. Curry, Ms. Box, Ms. Antaya, Ms. Naylor, Mr. Chapman Wednesday: Ms. Milligan, Ms. Hauser, Ms.Thompson, Ms. Van Slyke Thursday: Ms. Martin, Mr. Josh, FriOnce you learn to read, you will be forever free.” ~ Frederick Douglass
