Athletic Hall Of Fame Inductees! 2017 Dustin Zielaskiewicz is a 2007 graduate of Brunswick High School. While in high school,

Dustin was a member of the Blue Devil football and baseball teams. As a football player Dustin was part of the Pioneer Conference Championship team in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He had 61 pass receptions in his career and 1,056 passing yards in his three years as a varsity football player. During his senior year, he was 1st Team All-County and 1st Team All-Ohio. As a baseball player, Dustin had a batting average of .362 his junior year and .462 his senior year. After graduation, Dustin went on to attend the University of Findlay and was a four year starter in football and baseball. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Intervention Specialist.

The Softball Team of 1986 raised the bar for Brunswick High School Athletics. While the team started the season off with a loss to Highland, they went on to win the next 25 games, the final one being the state championship game. Coached by Howard Cook, the team had the most wins in a softball season and the first to win a state championship for the school as well as Medina County. The team defeated teams from Medina, Strongsville, North Ridgeville, Tallmadge, Cuyahoga Falls, Amelia and finally Massillon Jackson with a score of 3-2 to clinch the state title.

• Nominees shall be either residents of the City of Brunswick or alumni of Brunswick High School who have distinguished themselves at a high level of accomplishment in their particular sport in areas such as, but not limited to, playing, coaching, and volunteering.

• Nominees must have graduated at least 10 years prior to the selection date or have been a resident of the City of Brunswick for at least 10 years. Individuals may be nominated posthumously. Deadline for submissions is the last Tuesday in February. Nomination forms can be found on the athletic department website under the Blue Devil HQ section.
