At Home Study Guide For the week of May 1, 2016 So often we look at the mess of our lives or the mess of our world and fail to see God. This week’s message brought to us by Bethel Student Ministries will remind us that right in the middle of our mess, God is writing our message. We will see through a clear presentation of the Gospel from Romans how God has rescued us from the pit of darkness and offered us new life in Jesus. We who are created in His image have the privilege of sharing His good news with others and seeing our lives transformed as well as the lives of those with whom we share. Allow God to write your message in the middle of your mess.
Why did God step back and deem creation “very good” in Genesis 1:26-31? If He knew already that we would fall into sin, why did He not start fresh?
The more we sin, the more sin controls us. What are ways in which sin finds its way into your life, heart and mind? Where are you most tempted?
Have you ever run from God? How did that work out for you? Why is it that though we think we have life under control, organized and perfect we can still feel empty inside?
No one can make the decision for you to follow Jesus. We know that He conquered sin and death when He rose from the dead. In Him, we are no longer slaves to sin. Why do you think people stay in their sin?
When you reflect on following Jesus, what stands out to you about His work accomplished in you? Though we say we have a personal faith, where does your faith show up in your life? Where do you see your perspective being conformed into the image of Jesus?
