Established in July 1994 to coordinate all activities in the construction industry and increase its competitiveness. ACPM is a National Association formed in 2010 by the faculties and certified project managers compliance with National Competency Standard for Project Managers in Construction APFPM is a regional grouping of independent national project management associations. Through international collaborative partnering these Associations can more effectively grow and develop their organisations; leveraging the stature, strength, and connectivity of each other.
NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM FOR PROJECT MANAGERS 2013 ACPM with CIDB sponsorship had successfully organized the inaugural national Symposium for project managers in 2013 highlighting, among others, the Project ICON award that was bestowed upon Malaysia’s fourth Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohammad for his contribution to the nation’s development that inculcated a paradigm shift among local project managers.
ASIAN REGIONAL SYMPOSIUM 2015, KL CIDB and ACPM will co-organize the ASIAN REGIONAL SYMPOSIUM 2015 on 17 November 2015 at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the theme : “ PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN THE METAMODERNISM ERA” By “Meta-modernism” we are looking beyond the conventional. It is a set of developments in philosophy, aesthetics, and culture which are emerging from and reacting to postmodernism as Malaysia and the Asian Region reach developed status by 2020. The major aims are to ensure project management ser-vices are able to meet current challenges imposed by contemporary projects and to create awareness among Asian nations, ASEAN countries in particular, the impact for competent project management on project successes and avoiding failures. The event will also strive to impress that project management has a science and philosophy of its own that calls for a different set of skills other than those found in the traditional professional subject matter. The event will also provide the forum to explore the potential of liberalizing project management services via Mutual Recognition Agreements or other instruments among countries in Asia.
AWARDS ACPM recognizes and honors Malaysian project management personalities through the PM ICON Award for outstanding project leadership and the PM Lifetime Achievement Award for significant professional contribution to the industry and society
The Symposium also presented 6 speakers from Japan, UK, and Australia and local experts who shared their knowledge and experience with the audience. The Project Managers Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Tan Sri Ir. (Dr) Jamilus Hussein for his leadership in delivering Malaysia’s KLIA ahead of time and below budgeted cost.
The APFPM PM Achievement Awards recognises, honours, and promotes organisations demonstrating excellence and outstanding achievements in project and program management and research in project management within the Asia Pacific region.
