Introduction ―AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE‖ is a 40 day personal and family prayer guide. It is our hope and desire that men and women of all ages will take the charge, and will seek a deeper, personal relationship with Jehovah God, whom we serve. This prayer guide is designed as a daily devotional to provide a disciplined approach to a biblical prayer life and a daily challenge to honor and serve God. We hope your daily walk with our Lord Jesus Christ, will be enhanced through the power of the Holy Spirit, as you diligently seek him daily for the 40 days. BE EXERCISED BY IT!
Joshua 24:15 "And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." It is our hope that daily, the Holy Spirit will meet you where you are. We hope He will speak with you through His word, and will guide you through His power, as you strive for a deeper relationship with Him. We hope your prayer life, and your daily walk with God will be enriched, and that He will work in you, and with you, and through you, as you seek Him.

BE DILIGENT These daily devotional challenges are to be read and studied daily. They are short and will only take a few minutes to ponder. Meditate on them, and listen to the Spirit as he leads you in your journey. BE ACCOUNTABLE Choose an accountability partner, and be willing to faithfully give an account to them for your successes and/ or failures in your journey. Honestly journal your daily devotional studies, and acknowledge God’s working in your life in and through the 40 days of prayer and commitment. You will be enriched as you document and share your journey with others.
BE FAITHFUL Faithfully schedule your personal, and family times together, so you can seek God daily, and trust Him to give you wisdom to follow Him and He will direct your paths your paths

Monday — September 27th, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING - JEHOVAH GOD THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD‖ Scripture: Genesis 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. FOCUS: Pray with thanksgiving, for who God is! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! God Jehovah of the Holy Bible is the one and only true God. He is a triune God; one God, three distinct personalities, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, unified in purpose and conduct. THERE IS NO OTHER GOD! Tuesday — September 28th, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– JEHOVAH GOD IS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST‖ Scripture: John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. FOCUS: Pray with thanksgiving for Who Jesus Christ is! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Jesus Christ is God manifested in Human form! He was ―before all things, He created all things, all things were created by Him and for Him, and by Him all things consist.‖ THERE IS NO OTHER CREATOR! Wednesday — September 29th, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– JEHOVAH GOD IS THE HOLY SPIRIT‖ Scripture: Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. FOCUS: Pray with thanksgiving for Who God the Holy Spirit is! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! The Holy Ghost of God Jehovah is the invisible presence and essence of God and Jesus Christ, manifested in the lives of man and nature. It is the power of the Holy Spirit of God that saves lost souls! THERE IS NO OTHER HOLY SPIRIT! COMMENTS: Read John 14:16-18; John 14:26 & Acts 1:4-8 The Holy Spirit of God is manifested in the lives of his believers in many marvelous ways. He’s our source of divine power and wisdom. Thursday — September 30th, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– JEHOVAH GOD IS SALVATION‖ Scripture: Psalm 98:2-3 The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness has he openly showed in the sight of the heathen. [3] He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. FOCUS: Pray with thanksgiving for eternal salvation which is ―purposed‖ in God Jehovah and Him alone! THERE IS NO OTHER SALVATION! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! God Jehovah has purposed from the foundations of the world, that a remnant of believers would be saved, and enjoy Him, and dwell in His glorious presence for eternity. He sacrificed His own son Jesus Christ to redeem that remnant from their condemnation and sin. BY FAITH ARE WE SAVED! COMMENTS: Read Romans 8:1 and Ephesians 1:18-22 We are saved by Jehovah God’s own volition to willingly worship Him, and that our lives will redeem His holy name among the degenerate nations and the heavenly hosts. The sufferings, the death, the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ was propitiation for our sins and He purchased our eternal salvation, which is inherited by faith in Jesus Christ and his completed works on Calvary. Salvation and eternal life in heaven is found in God Jehovah alone. Day # 5. Friday — October 1st, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– JEHOVAH GOD IS LOVE‖ Scripture: 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. FOCUS: Pray with thanksgiving for love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts, through salvation and the Holy Spirit of God that indwells in us! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! God’s love motivated him to provide us salvation even though his creation was in rebellion against Him, and doomed in sin. Love is his nature, therefore He loves. Because He loves he shares His love with those He redeems, so they can love also! COMMENTS: Read John 3:16-8; Romans 5:6-10 & John 13:34 & 35 God Jehovah’s very nature is love. He spreads that love in creation, through his glorious gift of eternal salvation. Love is both a feeling, and an emotion, but more importantly a choice, solely motivated by the Spirit of God. To love the lovely is human, to love the unlovely, the scoffer, the abuser, or your enemy is divine. TODAY’S JOURNAL:

Day # 6. Saturday — October 2nd, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING—JESUS CHRIST IS LORD‖ Scripture: John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. FOCUS: Pray with thanksgiving for Jesus Christ, who is not just our risen Savior, but our living Lord, seated at the right hand of God as our advocate, and soon coming again to rapture us into glory! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Lordship means master. Jesus Christ is ―Lord of Lords‖ and the King of Kings. He is the Lord of creation, and the Lord of our lives. He is the Loving Lord! He is sovereign Lord over our today, our tomorrow, and our eternity. The key to a successful life is loving submission to His Lordship. COMMENTS: Read Acts 16:31; 1 Timothy 3:11; 1 Thesolonians 1:4-10; 1 Timothy 6:1-3; As our sovereign Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is diligently working out His divine plans both in the worldly realm and in our personal lives, He works according to His good pleasure. He is Righteous, and does all things well. Even in what seems the darkest moments, or when life makes no sense, He is there, and He is Lord of Lords. Be Thankful he is Lord. Day # 7. Sunday — October 3rd, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER– PERSONAL REPENTANCE‖ Scripture: Ezekiel 14:6 Therefore say to the house of Israel, This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices! FOCUS: Pray in true repentance! Turn from your wicked ways, and acknowledge Him! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! As the Lord told Israel, ―repent‖, so are we to repent, of our ―Idols and renounce our detestable practices‖. Honesty and true confession in prayer can bring true deliverance and freedom from those ―detestable practices. COMMENTS: Read Acts 3:19; Acts 8:22; Acts 17:30 & 11 Chronicles 7:14; Repentance is the act of turning away, or turning around. We are commanded to turn from our wicked ways and seek His face, and then he will hear our prayers from heaven and will renew our lives and heal our land. (LORD’S DAY WORSHIP TODAY!) TODAY’S JOURNAL:

Day # 8. Monday — October 4th, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER– CLEANSING FROM SIN‖ Scripture: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. FOCUS: Pray confessing our sins in true repentance! God is a forgiving God And wants to cleanse us from those sins that beset us daily! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Jesus Christ paid for any and every sin we have ever committed, any sin we may be involved in now, or any sin we may commit. His forgiveness is freely available to all who will confess their sins and repent from them. God will cleans us from all unrighteousness. COMMENTS: Read Psalm 131:1-6; Colossians 1:12-14; We never sin in a vacuum. Our sins affect those around us, just as their sin affect us. God sees our sins and knows our hearts. He knows our sinful nature, and desires to forgive us and cleans us, so we can live victorious Christians lives. Confess often, confess honestly, confess in fear, and confess believing. Tuesday — October 5th, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER—SELF DENIAL‖ Scripture: Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. FOCUS: Pray for the wisdom and strength to turn from your ―wicked ways‖; ―deny yourself‖, deny your lusts and your temptations, and take up the ―cross‖, the ―burden‖, and the ―vocation‖ which God has provided according to His will And His great pleasure, and follow Him. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Many men and women spend their lives climbing the ladder of worldly success, only to find when they reach the top, the ladder has been leaning against the wrong wall for years. The modern ideas of the ―American Dream‖, and success are nothing more than false illusions, set forth by Satan, to deceive people and entice them to pursue the temporal indulgences that will not last. If we gain the ―Whole World‖, IT IS A WORTHLESS PURSUIT. COMMENTS: Read Mark 8:34-38; Luke 12:16-21. God’s blessing upon the farmer (Luke 12) became a snare that lured him to think he was ―set‖ for life, for retirement, for old age. Success blinded him to his mortality. Seeking worldly wealth, and material possessions in place of depending on God’s daily provision in godly contentment is foolish. Day # 10. Wednesday — October 6th, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER—TAKE UP YOUR CROSS‖ Scripture: Matthew 16:25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. FOCUS: The cross of Jesus Christ is our example of the burden and suffering that may come through faithfully following His will for our lives. We are commanded to take up our cross. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! The Christian life is to be a life of self sacrifice and servitude to Jehovah God, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To follow Christ, He must be the Leader, we must be in submission to his leadership! COMMENTS: Read Matthew 16:26-28 To surrender our lives to Jesus Christ and to be partakers in His sufferings in service to Him, is to save our lives for eternity. To live our lives without Faith in Christ is to lose our lives for eternity. Serving Jesus Christ is the cross we must bear! THE CHOICE IS OURS TO MAKE! (REMEMBER FAMILY OUTREACH—TONIGHT 7:00 P.M.) Day # 11. Thursday — October 7th, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER—FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST‖ Scripture: Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? FOCUS: To follow means to be on the same path, with the same purpose, and committed to the same outcome. Christ willfully sacrificed himself on the cross on Calvary to save us from our sins. We are to sacrifice ourselves to reach others for Christ as well. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! COMMENTS: Read : Matthew 11:27-29 There is an old saying, ―I’ve never seen a hearst pulling a U hal trailer.‖ There is no amount of possessions sufficient to purchase one soul from the condemnation of hell. The cross we are to bear is the yoke of serving Jesus Christ, (it is not the cross of Calvary). Christ promises that if we take up His yoke, he will carry the load. His yoke is light. Day # 12. Friday — October 8th, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER—BE A LIVNG SACRIFICE‖ Scripture: Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. FOCUS: Pray that our lives will be a living sacrifice for the glory and praise of God Jehovah. He is to be the daily focus of everything we do. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! The difficulty with a living sacrifice is that the Sacrifice (that’s us), keeps crawling off the alter. COMMENTS: Read : Romans 12:2 & 3; 1 Peter 2:15 & 1 Peter 3:17; The will of God for every believer is that we would deny ourselves, and willfully sacrifice our own selfish desires in life, to follow and serve His Son and our Living Savior Jesus Christ in accordance with the teachings of the word of God. We are not to be conformed to the lifestyles of the world, but are to be different due to the influence of the word of God and His indwelling in our lives. Saturday — October 9th, 2010 Central theme : ―SURRENDER—I SURRENDER ALL‖ Scripture: Hebrews 13:15 By him, therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. FOCUS: Pray that God’s Holy Spirit will convict us and empower us to commit all of our heart, soul, and mind to serve Him faithfully. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! We are to follow in His ways according to His Holy Word, with all of our heart, all of our soul. and all of our mind. COMMENTS: Read : Romans 12:2 & 3; 1 Peter 2:15 & 1 Peter 3:17; The great hymn of the faith written in the late 1800’s states: ―All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence freely live.‖ ―All to Jesus I surrender, Make me Savior wholly thine; Let me feel thy Holy Spirit—truly know that thou art mine.‖ All to Jesus I surrender, Lord I give my self to thee, Fill me with thy love and power, Let thy blessings fall on me.‖ SURRENDER ALL TO JESUS! Sunday — October 10th, 2010 Central theme : ―PRAISE—I WILL PRAISE HIS NAME FOREVER!‖ Scripture: 1 Chron. 16:35 And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise. FOCUS: Pray the ―Praises of God‖ for He is good and His mercy endures forever! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! We are commanded to give God praise, worship and honor in everything. TO GOD BE THE GLORY– GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE! COMMENTS: Read; Psalm 136; Psalm 52:9; Psalm 54:9; God’s mercy endures forever. His name is to be praised above the heavens, and among the nations. Day # 15. Monday — October 11th, 2010 Central theme : ―PRAISE—I WILL PRAISE YOU WITH MY MOUTH!‖ Scripture: Psalm 51:15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. Psalm 57:9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. FOCUS: Pray openly and loudly with praises of thanksgiving with our mouths, in songs and hymns, with harps and with the instruments. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! God’s praise is to always be on our lips. We are to seek Him daily; we are to seek Him early, and we are to praise Him always. COMMENTS: Read; Psalm 34:1; Psalm 69:30; Psalm 66:2; Psalm 71:14; King David understood the importance of praising God Jehovah and the Lord Jesus Christ daily with our lives, our words and our conduct. God dwells in the praises of His saints. PRAISE HIM DAILY! FOCUS: God honors the truth of his Word, the truth of His existence, and the truth of His Salvation. Worship must be conducted in the truth of His Word! FOCUS: The Bible warns often that we are to concern ourselves with the natural lusts of the old man that lives within us, and that sin can beset us quickly! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Within 90 days from their miraculous deliverance from Egypt, with the passing of the death angel, the parting of the Red Sea, and the destruction of Pharaoh’s armies, the Israelites were at the foot of Mount Sinai, building a golden calf to the God’s of Egypt. Day # 36. Monday — November 1st, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– WE WILL SERVE YOU WITH ALL OF OUR TREASURES‖ Scripture: Luke 12:33-34 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. [34] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. FOCUS: Pray; - God will search our hearts, and make us seek Him and the eternal first; material wealth and possessions are temporal. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! We cannot serve God and material possessions. God is concerned about the condition of our heart, and our obedience to serve Him and others, not our check book, or the size of our IRA or 401 K. COMMENTS: Read Matthew 12:35; Luke 12:21; 1 Timothy 6:6-12: Our American culture has been blessed by God more than any society in world History. That blessing has now become the snare around our necks. The #1. political issue today is our economy, and our national and personal financial decline. The most powerful movement in our political arena, as we approach the November election is Fiscal conservatism. Why? Because we have been guilty as a nation of consuming our wealth of our own lusts. We have accumulated trillions of dollars in debt, we are blowing money on Godless pursuits world wide, there are billions of dollars in waste and fraud, and the masses are being taxed by a secular government, out of control. Our personal wealth is dwindling, and our leaders are desirous of making us a third world power through redistribution of wealth. Day # 37. Tuesday — November 2nd, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– WE MUST SERVE GOD WITH ALL OUR HEART, SOUL, AND MIND! Scripture: 1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: FOCUS: Pray for resolve to serve Him. God wants 100% of who we are. He wants all of us, Soul, mind, body and Spirit. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! As the late Jim Elliot once said: ―A man is no fool, who gives what he cannot keep, to obtain that which he cannot lose.‖ COMMENTS: Read: Mark 12:30; Psalm 119:45; Psalm 138:1; We are to sacrifice ourselves unto God, and serve Him with all we are, all we have and all we will ever be. Day # 38. Wednesday — November 3rd, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– WE WILL SERVE THE LORD Scripture: Psalm 100:1-2 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. [2] Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. FOCUS: Pray to God and be thankful for the vocation to which He has called you! TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Christianity is about serving the One and Only Living God Jehovah, and His Son Jesus Christ. Serve Him faithfully. Serve Him Gladly. COMMENTS: Read: Ephesians 4:1-4 We are to walk worthy of God in all we do. Unity in the body and faithfulness in service is paramount. We are to endeavor to maintain the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace in ministry. However, unity for the sake of unity is not Godly. Our unity is to be centered in Christ’s purpose and plans for the body! God is fitly framing together His body according to His great pleasure. We as His servants and are to love one another, serve one another and serve with one another, faithfully in all things. Thursday — November 4th, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– GOD, WE WILL SERVE YOU WITH OUR TALENTS!‖ Scripture: Philippians. 3:13-14 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, [14] I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. FOCUS: We are in a battle for the lost souls on men and women, boys and girls. Our life’s focus must be centered on God and His soon coming Kingdom. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Keep the main thing, the main thing! As Paul States: ―Press towards the mark for the prize of the High calling of God in Jesus Christ.‖ COMMENTS: Read: Philippians 3:10-16; Paul’s passion was centered in knowing only Jesus Christ, the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, and strove to be conformed to His image, in both life and in death. Paul had his eyes on the target. He was aimed at the bull’s eye. He understood His high calling. He ran his life deliberate, to win the eternal prize! The prize; to hear that Holy Righteous Praise from our Holy Righteous Judge Jesus Christ! ―WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT! Friday — November 5th, 2010 Central theme : ―THANKSGIVING– WE WILL SERVE YOU FAITHFULLY TIL YOU COME!‖ Scripture: 2 Peter 3:13-14 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. [14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. FOCUS: Jesus is soon coming again; we need to be found faithful when He appears. TRUTH TO REMEMBER! Whether by rapture or by death, we have our hope in Jesus Christ for bodily resurrection, and the eternal life He promises. When that day comes, we want to be found faithful, and blameless.
