Emails pile up quickly. Let’s take a look at Archiving some of our emails, so they don’t clutter our inbox. We’ll start by opening Outlook.

We’ll start our manual archive by going to our File menu. There we will click on the “Archive…” option.

This brings up the Archive window. This is where we are going to setup our manual archive.

First, we need to select how old we want the emails to be, that we will archive. When you click in this box, a calendar will pop up and allow you to select the date. Remember that this is the date in which you will keep emails from.

Next, we want to pick the location that the archive file is stored. Feel free to click the “Browse…” button to get a better look at where it is going. When you have selected your location, click on the “OK” button.

Depending on how many emails need to be archived, this process may take several minutes. You will see a new folder created and named “Archive Folders”. Outlook will copy the folders from your Inbox and fill them with the emails that are older than the date you selected. Now your Inbox is less cluttered.
