Jazz Band today during OH. Girls tennis vs Prospect Mtn 4:00 (Prescott Park) Boys tennis at Littlleton 4:30 (dismissal 2:20, bus 2:30) Sophomore class meeting Monday at 1:15 in the Auditorium. FBLA will meet on Monday at 3:05 in room 110. AP exam fees and transportation forms are due to Guidance by April 9th. Checks are made payable to ILHS. Lost and found will be removed April 13th. Please take a look and see if you might have something there. Prom is May 19th! Prom tickets will be on sale at lunches throughout the month of April. They are $35 a ticket. Make sure your class dues are up-to-date. See a class officer or class adviser with any questions! Contest for female students in grades 7-12 to be Governor for the day! How to apply: The 'Governor for a Day' competition is open to girls in Middle and High school in New Hampshire. Interested applicants should send in their answer to the question "If I were Governor for a Day, I would…" to
[email protected] by April 30th at 5 PM. Video submissions can be sent as a private message to Governor Sununu's Facebook messenger account. Videos should be no more than one minute, and written responses should be no more than 250 words. Next week Alice B. Fogel, the New Hampshire Poet Laureate, will be visiting Inter-Lakes on Thursday, April 12. As a guest speaker and teacher, she will with students on writing, reading, speaking, and listening to poetry. Ms. Fogel's visit is sponsored by Altrusa International, Meredith, and Heart and Hands Thrift Shop in honor of Meredith's 250th anniversary.
***Today in History*** On April 6, 1896, the Olympic Games, a long-lost tradition of ancient Greece, are reborn in Athens 1,500 years after being banned by Roman Emperor Theodosius I. At the opening of the Athens Games, King Georgios I of Greece and a crowd of 60,000 spectators welcomed athletes from 13 nations to the international competition.
