The Sutter Yuba Community Foundation invites applicants for the Sarah E. Jackson Memorial Scholarship for $500. The scholarship will be awarded one time to a local high school senior who plans to attend college, major in Education, English, or Liberal Studies, and become an educator. Sarah E. Jackson taught English and Business courses at Yuba City High School from September 1978 until her retirement in June 1992. Her love of teaching was a driving force in her life, second only to her love of family. Those students who were privileged to learn under Sarah’s direction readily acknowledge the positive impact she had on their lives. ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for the scholarship, student applicants must 1) attend a high school in the Yuba-Sutter area, 2) plan to major in Education, English, or Liberal Studies at college, and 3) state and intend to seek employment within the education system after graduation from the college.
