RMS is not responsible for reminding families to reapply. Lottery and waitlist: The following priorities are observed before the lottery. 1. Applicants with at least one parent who is an RMS employee 2. Applicants with a sibling currently enrolled at RMS 3. Applicants currently attending Mount Sopris Montessori School In the event of multiple birth (twins, triplets, etc.) applicants, only one name will be entered in the lottery. If that name is selected, siblings will automatically be selected to enroll as well. Lottery is for Kindergarten only. Students in first through eighth grade are offered spots, as they are available and placed on waitlists as necessary by grade level. Applications are due by 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2017. The lottery will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017. Applicants will be notified beginning Friday, April 7, if they have a spot for the 2016/2017 school year. Families may also call beginning Friday, April 7, to confirm enrollment. Families must accept or decline enrollment by 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017. Accepted applicants who do not respond by the deadline will be moved to the end of the waitlist. Returning students: RMS will send re-enrollment forms to current students in January. Re-enrollment forms must be returned by February 3, 2017 to inform administration of enrollment for the upcoming school year. Waitlist Once the lottery is complete and the enrollment roster is finalized, remaining applicants will be placed on a waitlist for the applicable school year only. Applicants must reapply annually. The order of the wait-list is established for each grade by the primary lottery. Should a space become available, the first person on the waitlist will be contacted. From the date of first contact, families have 48-hours to confirm or deny enrollment or the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. Updated information packet as of 12/6/16.
