Activities for the kids from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Race Course: The 5K Walk/Run will begin at Guntersville Recreation Center, travel along scenic Sunset Drive running south to an access path to the paved running path (at approx. the 1.4 mi. point), turn right onto the path and loop around and run back in the opposite direction to an access path to a parking lot (at approx. 2.8 mi. point) next to a baseball field and concrete storage shed, run through the parking lot back onto Sunset Dr., turn left and run back to the start Point in front of the “Hutt Thomas Gym” next to the Guntersville Recreation Center. The Apple Foundation is a local, non-profit organization designed specifically to facilitate worthy programs and events beyond the ordinary operating budgets of the Guntersville City schools. Apple Foundation grants have promoted and encouraged excellence in our schools in a variety of ways that otherwise would not have been possible.

Why the Race to Education? Through the 6th Annual Apple Race to Education, we hope to be able to increase awareness of Apple Foundation and to increase the amount of funds available for grants for our local school.

Since 2003, the Apple Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 in grants to Guntersville City Schools. Waiver & Release: I, individually (and/or as parent, and/or guardian of the named minor) for and in consideration of acceptance of this entry in the aforementioned event, do hereby release, remise, waive, and forever discharge the Apple Foundation and any and all other supporting groups of this said racing event, together with all their officers, agents, officials, and employees, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes damage, including death, relating to an injury, illness, loss and further state I am in proper physical condition to participate in this event. In addition, I agree that my participation in this event requires that I will not participate with roller blades, skateboards, animals, or anything which the race director deems dangerous to myself or other participants and that the race director may remove me from this event for a violation of said policy. I further grant permission to this race and the organization conducting the race and/or agents authorized by them to use any photographs, videotapes, motion picture, recordings and any other record of this event for any purpose. I also agree that if the event is cancelled for any reason that all entry fees are non-refundable.
