ANTON STANKOWSKI Alemania, 1906-1998. Artista comercial, pintor y fotógrafo. Fue miembro de los Concretos de Zurich, movimiento en reacción al arte abstracto. Características: · Exaltación de la simplicidad · Rechazo de lo orgánico · Racionalidad y orden · Formación de series, grupos y variaciones · Expresión lineal basada en el color.
Fue especialmente hábil en el diseño de logotipos y complejos sistemas visuales. Desarrollo su propia iconografía, añadiendo la información que debía ser transmitida a la idea artística, consiguiendo el atractivo de una obra de arte.

En lugar de diseñar una marca o logotipo tipográfico, Stankowski desarrolló un elemento arquitectónico. La línea horizontal larga y la vertical corta se convirtió en el símbolo de Berlín, ciudad dividida por un Muro, representando la vertical este muro.
