What you need to know for Registration
All ships and individuals attending the regatta must use the online registration form. You will need the following information: SHIPS: - Ship Info (name, home port, etc.) - Officer‐In‐Charge Info (OIC – an adult who will present for the entire regatta) - Boatswain Information (name and email address) - Breakdown of attendees (number of male adults, number of female adults, etc.) - Berthing specifics (a breakdown of how many people in dorms, a Sea Scout vessel or both) - Other information that will be asked: Estimated time of arrival, if your ship has any vegetarians, if your ship will be combining with another ship, etc. INDIVIDUALS: ‐ Individuals may register with the regatta with direct approval from the committee ‐ Individuals must use the same online form used by ships to pre‐register for the regatta and same method to pay the regatta fees. ‐ You will fill out as much of the online form as applicable – name, berthing location, etc.
The following are the registration deadlines, ships may choose one: - April 29, 2016: Early Bird Registration (no ship fee) - May 6, 2016: Registration (ships are required to pay a $50 ship fee, plus the per person fee) - May 13, 2016: Late Registration (ships will pay per person fee, ship fee, and $50 late fee) Ships should submit their completed online registration as soon as possible; and are encouraged to update their registration information as needed using the online form. The entire regatta fee is due no later than the Registration deadline your ship chooses. If we do not receive your Ship’s regatta fee by the deadline, your ship will be ineligible to participate in the regatta.
Once the Registration deadline has passed, we are unable to allow additional people to register with the regatta, nor are we able to give refunds for attendees who can no longer come.
What you need to know for On Campus Housing
Each ship will be assigned a block of dorms. The OIC and Bos’n shall be responsible for assigning rooms within the ship during on‐site registration. You will not be able to check into the residence hall or receive keys without the dorms assigned to individuals.
Only the OIC and Bos’n shall come to the residence hall with their room assignment worksheet completed to receive keys. After the keys are received, the OIC and the rest of the crew and officers should proceed to their dorm rooms in their assigned building with their gear There will be two individuals per dorm room, there are a few single rooms however the regatta is unable to take requests for singles. The regatta will endeavor to assign singles to adults as opposed to youth.
The regatta is unable to take special requests for specific rooms. The regatta will endeavor to consider physical needs of adult leaders made in advance during pre‐registration.
The regatta will follow the BSA youth protection policies and as such no individuals of opposite sex will share rooms or heads (including married couples). Additionally no youth and adult will share rooms (including parents of children). Each ship is responsible for providing accurate demographic information to the regatta at the time of pre‐registration.
Each individual must provide their own sleeping bag/linens and pillows.
All issued Keys (both traditional and cards) MUST be returned upon regatta check out. Any ships that do not return keys or key cards issued to them, will be held responsible for the replacement cost ‐ $50 PER KEY. Payable at the time of check out to the regatta.
Dorm check out process will begin after dorms and heads have been cleaned following the award ceremony (more information will be received during on‐site registration).
What you need to know about On Campus Parking
Parking permits are required for every vehicle that is parked on campus, per campus policy. Trailers, RVs, or other non‐traditional vehicles are not permitted. Please see the “Cal Maritime Visitor Parking Information” bulletin for specific information about Permit rates and other pertinent information.
What you need to know for Onsite Registration The OIC and Boatswain must report to Registration as soon as possible after arriving at CMA (all other crew members and officers who need berthing assignments should wait in the staging area until the ships registration is complete). At registration the OIC will be asked to sign up their registering adults for judging slots. Please have several options in mind for events that you will sign your officers and junior officers up for, as the various options fill up quickly. At registration the Boatswain will be asked to sign up their crew for a service watch and pulling and flotilla times (if participating in those events). Please have several options in mind, as the slots available fill up quickly. Once your ship is registered, please proceed to the On Campus Housing check in area for your berthing accommodations or back to your vessel.
