Atlantic City High School School-Parent Compact 2016-2017 We, the Atlantic City High School family, established this parent-school compact to increase the sharing of responsibilities between home and school to assure that every Atlantic City High School student attains high standards and a quality education. This school-parent compact is a component to the school-level parental involvement policy and was developed jointly with parents of the Atlantic City High School. As a parent/guardian I will: • Provide a current contact phone number, address, and/or email. • Ensure that my child gets adequate sleep, regular medical attention, and proper nutrition. • Make sure that my child attends school every day and arrives on time. • Support the school’s discipline and dress code policies. • Support timely completion of homework and school assignments, and monitor my child’s academic progress. • Communicate regularly with the school by attending parent conferences, Back to School Night, and Open House. • Encourage my child to seek help and participate in recommended interventions. • Participate in shared decision making with school staff by joining a school advisory council. • Respect the school, staff, students and other individuals. • Talk with my teen about bullying, harassment, peer pressure, safety, and drug-free behavior.
