5th Octboer 2016 Dear Parent/ Guardian, Trip to Christmas Market in Aachen, Germany The Languages Department is excited again to offer your child the opportunity to join us on a trip to the wonderful Roman city of Aachen in Germany and to visit their festive Christmas Market.
Date: Thursday 1st (late PM) to Saturday 3rd (early AM) December 2016. Cost: £80 (this covers cost of travel plus excursions). Please pay by parentpay. Transport: We will travel by coach and ferry. We will be sleeping on seats on the coach and ferry in both directions – and therefore we will be leaving from school late in the evening (exact time TBC) Thursday 1st December and will return, exhausted but happy, very early on Saturday morning (exact time TBC) 3rd December. Food: Please send your child with food for breakfast and a packed lunch. Please provide either food or money (in Euros) for food in the evening. We would suggest around €15 (£11). Clothing: Your child may wear their own clothes but should be prepared for any possible weather conditions for December in Germany i.e bring a coat, hat, gloves and wear sensible shoes as we will tour Aachen during our time there. The average temperature in Aachen in December is 3°C so they will need to wrap up warm! Spending Money: We will be visiting stalls and the delights of the Christmas Market therefore your child is likely to find some souvenirs or presents to buy and bring home. All students will require a valid passport (EU and non EU). Please fill in the medical form, code of conduct and parental consent form. We also recommend getting an EHIC card for your child. This has proven to be a very popular trip and we will run this trip on a first-come, first-served basis so please get your forms back as soon as possible. All forms should be handed into the finance office no-later than Wednesday 19th October 2016 and the full amount of £80 will need to have been paid by this date.
