“Operation Encompass School” Children who are affected by domestic abuse don’t have to suffer in silence. Operation Encompass enables key adults in schools, police and teams within North Tyneside Council to train and work together to help children feel safe, secure and receive the appropriate support.
HAVE FUN LEARNING FRENCH AT APPLETREE WITH LINGOTOT! Booking is now open for Lingotot French sessions starting January 9th 2017 for all year groups. Sessions will run on Mondays straight after School from 9th January to 3rd April. Payment is £45 for the twelve-week course. Booking is online at www.lingotot.com please enter the School’s postcode (NE25 8XS) in the location box. NB: Payment due prior to first class, places can be provisionally reserved online by completing booking form.
This week all the children and staff enjoyed a fabulous festive lunch in school. All the staff wore a Christmas jumper to raise funds for charity. We raised £90.00 which will be split between a local charity “THE HARBOUR” which provides advice, support and temporary accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic violence and/or abuse and “SAVE THE CHILDREN”. “MUSIC AT APPLETREE” On Monday some of our Choir went to Lawns Care Home, Monkseaton to sing Christmas Carols with the residents who thoroughly enjoyed it. On Wednesday, our Appletree Choir and budding musicians all put on a fantastic concert for their parents/carers.

CLASS 11 will resume swimming lessons after Christmas on Tuesday January 2017. Lessons are £2 weekly or £12.00 to February Half Term.
ACCESS COACHING HOLIDAY CLUB – Access Coaching are running a Sports Coaching Roadshow at Tynemet College (Queen Alexandra Campus, North Shields) on 20th, 21st & 22nd December from 9.30am – 3.00pm. The cost is £10.00 per child per day. For more information or to book a place, please e:mail

Next Week in School……………… We have our Christmas Productions on Monday afternoon, repeated again on Tuesday morning. The children have put on three fantastic shows each with their own interpretation of the “Christmas Story”. There will be a short interval between each performance so you can come and go as you please. We hope you all enjoy them. All monies raised through sales will go towards outdoor storage benches to store PE equipment. We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support. When attending school performances, can we kindly ask that you park considerately as there have been previous instances of double parking resulting in buses unable to get through and police have been called. Also, please do not block resident’s driveways. Photographs and video policy in school. May we remind parents/carers that they should only take photographs of their child for their own personal use and nothing should be shared on any Social Media site.
Also next week….. YEAR 1 & 2 are going to see “Aladdin”, the Christmas Panto at Whitley Bay Playhouse on Wednesday 14th December. Oh, yes they are!!!!! CLASS PARTIES – Food lists are going out today. Please send in a small donation (we always have plenty) that can be easily shared between the children. Thank you. NURSERY’S last day in school will be Thursday 15th December and will be CLOSED on Friday 16th December. NON UNIFORM DAY – FRIDAY 16th DECEMBER All the children can come to school in non-uniform on the last day of term. Voluntary contributions will go to “Save the Children” We break up for the Christmas Holidays at 3.30pm on Friday 16th December and children return to school on Wednesday 4th January 2017.
