Roll Call Present: Vernon Miller, Barbara Tyndall, Orville Cayou and Carroll Webster, Sr. Absent: Jeff Miller and Clifford Wolfe, Jr.

Identification of Open Meeting Act (South Wall) Board of Education Vice-President stated that the Open Meeting Act is on the South side wall in the Distance Learning Lab.

IV.

Approval of Agenda for October 18, 2016 Regular Board of Education Meeting A motion was made to approve the agenda for the Regular Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. 1st by Carroll Webster, Sr. and 2nd by Orville Cayou YES: Miller, Tyndall, Cayou, & Webster NO: None Motion carried: 4-2

V.

PUBLIC COMMENTS (15 minutes) Taurean and Jason Miller coaches of Omaha Nation Youth Basketball teams requested to the Board of Education for the usage of the Old gymnasium for basketball practice. The Board of Education asked the Coaches to meet with Superintendent Mrs. Hardy to work out a schedule that would be convenient for the school.

New Business a. Discussion, consider, and take the necessary actions to approve the Umonhon Nation Education Association as the negotiating party for the 2017-2018 Umonhon Nation Public School Master Contract. A motion was made to approve the Umonhon Nation Education Association as the negotiating party for the 2017-2018 Umonhon Nation Public School Master Contract. 1st by Orville Cayou and 2nd by Carroll Webster, Sr. YES: V. Miller, Tyndall, Cayou and Webster NO: None Motion carried: 4-2 b. Discussion, consider, and take all necessary actions to select the Board of Education Negotiation Committee. A motion was made to appoint Orville Cayou and Carroll Webster, Sr. as the delegates for the Umonhon Nation Public School Board. 1st by Barbara Tyndall and 2nd by Orville Cayou YES: V. Miller, Tyndall, Cayou, and Webster NO: None Motion carried: 4-2

c. Discuss, consider, and take necessary action to move two white trailers off school property. Superintendent Mrs. Hardy explained to the Board of Education how much it would cost the district to move the two white trailers, and the owners do have a place to move the trailers. A motion was made to approve to move the two white trailers off school property. 1st by Carroll Webster, Sr. and 2nd by Barbara Tyndall YES: V. Miller, Tyndall, Cayou, and Webster NO: None Motion carried: 4-2 d. Discuss, consider, and take the necessary actions to exchange Umonhon Nation Public school Land (Parcels 1, 2,3,4,5 of the Moss Addition of the Village of Macy) with the land owned by the Omaha Tribe across from out teacher apartments. A motion was made to exchange Umonhon Nation Public School Land (Parcels 1,2,3,4,5 of the Moss Addition of the Village of Macy) with the land owned by the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska across from our Teacher apartments. 1st by Orville Cayou and 2nd by Carroll Webster, Sr. YES: V. Miller, Tyndall, Cayou, and Webster NO: None Motion carried: 4-2 e. Discuss, consider, and take the necessary action to cancel the gym lease agreement between Umonhon Nation Public School and the Omaha Nation Bison. The Board of Education would like for Superintendent Mrs. Hardy to address the situation with the Omaha Nation Bison Basketball Team.

XIII. Items of Discussion a. Program updates from Elementary and Secondary Staff Jennifer Smith updated the Board of Education on the Alternative Education Class on the students on the job training, eligibility, haunted house for the elementary students with good attendance, and Lakota Invititational Tourn. Marquerite Cortez explained her new position to the Board of Education and how well her home visits have been. Elementary Principal Mrs. Oehlerking updated the Board of Education on activities that been happening in the Elementary classroom. XIV. Reports a. b. c. d. e.
