The Suntech Summit Solar Farm is owned and operated by Geoff Bragg of New England Solar Power. The system is on net metering, which not only has the capacity to run electrical farm machinery such as pumps, compressors and refrigeration but will also export any excess energy to the grid. Today the use of electricity has become a major running cost for the 134,000 Australian farmers, especially with the cost of continually rising power. The Summit Solar Farm has provided the perfect case study for New England Solar Power to demonstrate how rural properties can be powered by the sun by fixing their electricity costs for the next 25 years.
Suntech Modules Deliver Full Performance in Agricultural Holdings The operation of solar systems in agricultural facilities places high requirements on the ammonia resistance on all the module components. Suntech modules are tested using the newly developed test procedure of TuV Rheinland in compliance with DIN 50916. This process strictly tests the PV module performance behaviour and durability of materials, isolation and security characteristics.
