Here’s Your Ultimate List of Better-Paying Blogs Before I achieved success as a freelance blogger, I often wished I had an easy list of places to sell a blog post for a fair rate of pay. So that’s what I’m giving you now. Here’s my list of blogs that pay $50 US (roughly £30 in the UK) or more per post. That’s roughly three times the average hourly wage in the US or the UK. Some of them accept simpler posts at a lower rate, but why would you choose less if you can earn more?

Can I Really Write for Them? Most of these blogs welcome submissions from writers and non-writers, and many of them will help you to refine your blog post after you submit it. So don’t be put off if you’re “not a professional”, “not a blogger” or “not a writer”! Contact some of these blogs and let them know what you can contribute that will interest their visitors. For more advice about making contact, visit Be A Freelance Blogger where I’ll share my tips on how to query editors and pitch your ideas to a blog.

What do the Listings Mean? Here’s an example listing that explains what’s what:

Blog Name: I put this at the top of each listing Overview: Here I’ll give you notes about the blog’s topics, the types and formats of submissions they accept, specific submission methods, and whether they favour posts with supporting media like photos or videos. Blog Homepage: I list the blog’s index page or home page URL (their web address) here. Contributor Information: This is the URL of the blog’s guidelines for contributors - read and follow them. Minimum Pay: The lowest amount I’ve seen this blog offer per post. Highest Stated Pay: The highest amount I’ve seen this blog quote per post. Contributor Byline: This means your name is published along with your post. Most blogs give a byline. Contributor Bio: This is a short piece of text about you, and is usually displayed at the end of a post. Some blogs include your photo, some let you link to your website or social media, and some don’t display bios at all. Rights: The publication rights the blog buys from you when payment is made. For more information about this, and about how to reuse a piece of writing several times to boost your income, visit Be A Freelance Blogger.
