Florence Twp Strategic Plan Goals Goal Area #1: Programming (Extracurricular, Class Offering, Pre-K, Alternative School, Community Involvement)

Goal Statement: With creative thinking, the Florence Township School District will develop new and alternate programs to meet the diverse needs of the whole student. Objectives: 1.

Explore and develop alternative educational programs (i.e. twilight, online, etc.) to maintain students (at risk) in district.

2.

Explore and develop diverse programs for all grades (i.e. academies).

3.

Offer more extracurricular activities (clubs, sports, etc.).

4.

Explore partnerships with local community colleges for high school students (college credits). Explore options for scheduling (different) methods using current resources. (Pre-K thru 12)

Florence Twp Strategic Plan Goals Goal Area #2: Facilities – Security & Safety

Goal Statement: Through building strong relationships between community, staff, and students, Florence Township Schools will maintain a safe learning environment while upgrading and beautifying our facilities.

Explore the opportunity of establishing a new K-5 school while keeping R.F.S. and FTHS facilities up to date. Provide training to staff to actively engage students in developing a safer environment district wide. Implement up to date security equipment throughout the district. Enhance the student learning environment by upgrading the aesthetics.

Florence Twp Strategic Plan Goals Goal Area #3: Technology Goal Statement: Create 21st Century Learners. Objectives: 1.

Make our students more competitive with other districts around us with a 1:1 initiative.

2.

Create a Maker Space for all grade levels.

3.

Creation of a more technology-based curriculum and course offerings that focuses on all levels of education and abilities.

4.

More required Professional Development in the areas of technology and STEAM to create a community of 21st Century Teachers.

Florence Twp Strategic Plan Goals Goal Area #4: Funding Goal Statement: Identify and cultivate realistic sustainable stable funding sources for the district.

Objectives: 1.

Retention of student body.

2.

Create a Foundation to provide funding to offset budgetary funding constraints.

3.

Analysis of additional funding resources to meet district priorities.

Florence Twp Strategic Plan Goals Goal Area #5: Communication – Community Involvement

Goal Statement: Broaden and simplify the ability for the direct and indirect community to be involved and notified.

Objectives: 1.

Easier channels for involvement by parents and community.

2.

Increase intra-school communications.

3.

Provide classroom.

4.

Explore better communication about the district with the community…Both parents and non-parents.
