The Institution of Engineers (India) has currently 26 State Centres and 75 Local Centres throughout the country with a total membership of more than 5.60 lakhs and the Andhra Pradesh State Centre is one of the leading Centres of IEI in the Country. In 1938, a Centre of the Institution of Engineers (India) was established at Hyderabad to serve the erstwhile Hyderabad and was inaugurated by Sir Akbar Hydari, the then President of HEH Nizam’s Executive Council on 15th November, 1938. The total strength of Corporate Membership of Andhra Pradesh State Centre is 8669, 4205
as Graduates and 43716 other members including Technicians and Senior Technicians. The A P State Centre has been one of the active Centres of the Institution which is engaged in successfully translating the objectives and ideals of IEI into practice. ABOUT IEEE, Hyderabad Section The IEEE Hyderabad Section is one of the most active sections of the IEEE in India, IEEE was formally introduced into Hyderabad in June 1981, when a group of engineers in Hyderabad decided to form an IEEE SubSection here. This Sub-Section was rapidly elevated to a full Section on 14 May 1984 (the year of IEEE Centenary Celebrations). All IEEE members, residing in the State of Andhra Pradesh, India, are automatically members of the IEEE, Hyderabad Section. The strength of IEEE is above 4000 members (as on 31 December, 2010). The section has four Chapters – Computer Society, PES/IAS/ PEL Society Joint Chapter, MTT/AP/EMC Society Joint Chapter and COM & SP Society Joint Chapter.
About the Seminar The one day Seminar brings out recent trends in technologies in the field of Microwaves. This includes low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, MMICS, Microwave receivers, light weight antennas. The applications broadly aim towards mobile and satellite communications, radar and electronic warfare. This offers an opportunity to update the knowledge for practicing microwave engineers and engineers who use technologies. All presentations are invited from experts in the field. The faculty includes experts from DRDO, Industry and Academy.
