Why did Paul write it? “It is curious that, despite the importance everyone concedes to this epistle, there is no agreement about the answers we should give.” Leon Morris Some common answers: 1) Paul wanted to prepare the way for a visit to Rome 2) He wanted to secure the support of the Roman Christians for his Spanish mission. 3) He sought the prayers of the Romans, deliverance from unbelievers and that the Jerusalem church would accept the gift he was bringing. 4) To unveil the gospel and its application within the Christian life.

What scriptures help you address this spiritual dilemma? 4. Who is the person in your life that YOU are skeptical that they would come to Jesus? Stop and pray for the salvation of that people in your group. 5. Justification (being declared righteous) by faith alone is one of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. Why is it central?
