Ballplayers learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment through a variety of station work, followed by a simulated game. Young athletes hit the ball from a batting tee, run the bases and field the ball in a structured learning atmosphere.

Ballplayers continue to learn hitting and fielding fundamentals with the introduction of pitching mechanics. More time is spent in game time activities and additional instruction on base running, rules of the game, as well as coach pitched games.

At the PeeWee level, players start to pitch in games. Coach pitch is still used in certain situations. They continue to hone their hitting, fielding and pitching skills during practices. Each team plays two games a week, as well as team practices. PeeWees play an age appropriate rule modified game.

Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. Played on a 46/60 field, at this age group all teams are drafted by the Team Managers. Minor teams play 2 games a week along with team practices. All teams make the playoffs.

Played on a 50/70 field, Major division players experience their first real taste of Major League Baseball. Rules are modified MLB, including leading, stealing, pick-offs and balks. This division transitions ballplayers from basic baseball to preparing them for the Junior League and beyond.

Welcome to the Junior League. Players have now graduated to a full size MLB 60/90 field. Ballplayers continue to work on their skills as they enjoy playing on the “Big” field. EBBL works with Edison HS coaches at this level to prepare our players for the High School game and beyond.
