ARM seeks to provide education, guidance, and support for families struggling with, or wishing to learn more about addiction. The Bent-Over Woman The Addictions Recovery Ministry of the Diocese of Louisiana announces its annual weekend for women who are or who wish to be in recovery. The 2016 weekend will take place at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center in Loranger, Louisiana, January 15-17, 2016.

Our Retreat Leader Our facilitator is Sr. Kay Kanick, a Sister of Mercy currently residing in Rochester NY. Sr. Kay has been involved in Retreat work for over 25 years in many states on the East Coast presenting workshops, days of reflections and retreats.

The weekend begins with supper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 15 and ends on Sunday, January 17, about noon, following a 12-Step Morning Prayer Service . We can all relate to those times when life seems heavy and a burden...sometimes we carry things from the past into our present and future. This retreat will include presentations and discussions on Acceptance, Letting Go, Spiritually Caring for ourselves and will allow time for prayer and quiet. Also important will be celebrating recovery with humor and light-heartedness.

All rooms at the Conference Center are double occupancy (shared rooms). You may request a private room, but we can not guarantee their availability. Private rooms are not assigned until after all registrations are received and we know the total attendance. We assign private rooms on a “first come, first served” basis; but no one will be turned away in order to provide private rooms. There are two handicap accessible rooms and an electric wheelchair available. Please let SECC know if you have any special dietary needs.
