Featuring Local Crafts and Homemade Goodies in Consignment Building Antique Tractor, Steam & Gas Engine Show HAMBURG GROCERY The old general store originally built by the Luray Lime Company in 1898 and sold that same year to Mr. Thomas Strickler began as a single floor. From 1899 to 1905 son, Benton C. Strickler, applied for a post office and served as the postmaster of Eura, VA out of the general store. In 1925 the store was sold to daughter Eura and husband, Fred Judd, after Thomas Strickler’s death. Improvements were made to the property by enlarging the space and adding a second floor apartment. In 1947 Harvey J. Earnhart bought the property and operated the store and lunchroom. All operations stopped in 1958. The store has been restored and added to the collection of Heritage museums. It contains items of interest donated by family and friends from around Page County. It is an example of an early general store.
