General Walton H. Walker Chapter 215
THE BULLDOG BUGLE
IN MEMORY OF HONORED CHAPTER MEMBER, COLONEL JAMES L STONE, MEDAL OF HONOR, DECD. PRESIDENT’S NOTES NOVEMBER 2015 HOME CHAPTER OF KWVA NAT’L PRESIDENT EMERITUS: BILL MAC SWAIN CURRENT NATIONAL PRESIDENT LARRY KINARD CURRENT CHAPTER 215 PRESIDENT A.J. KEY PAST PRESIDENTS: DICK PREDMORE MARVIN DUNN MIKE DOYLE LARRY KINARD WM. E. HOYLE AL D’AGOSTINO JIM WETMORE
The October picnic meeting at Arlington S. J. Stovall Park was exceptional. The pavilion provided good cover and access for our members. Kudos to Jim Wetmore for coordinating the location and food. Also thanks to all of the Chapter officers and members who helped with setup and cooking. We were blessed with good attendance and fellowship. Everywhere I looked there were groups of our members in animated and friendly conversation. Our two newest members, Dan Dawkins and Adrien Burnett, were actively moving among the crowd. Dan was busy taking no small number of photos, and Adrien has volunteered to make a bronze bas relief sculpture of General Walton H. Walker for our speaker’s lectern. [A French term from the Italian basso-relievo ("low relief"), bas relief is a sculpture technique in which figures and/or other design elements are just barely more prominent than the (overall flat) background.]
Attending for the first time was Earl Hammett – he was invited by Delbert Tallman. Earl received a warm welcome from all and we hope to see him back again for our November 21st meeting. All of this to say again, recruiting new members is the best way to ensure that the Korean War legacy is “not forgotten,” and remains our primary mission. Thank you to the Fort Worth Korean Association women coordinated by Jenny Grubbs and others who gave of their time on Saturday October 10th at Hmart in Carrollton to gather signatures on the petition to Congress supporting HR1475. No one passed the entrance to the store without being contacted by one of the ladies during the four hours we were there. Helping in the effort were Chapter 215 members Dave Moore, Bill Mac Swain, Jack Cooper and myself. The ladies treated us to a delicious lunch at a nearby Korean restaurant. At our November meeting, the group hosting our lunch and entertainment will be led by Kay Lee Cameron and the Irving Central Church-Biennial Choirs. Please take the time to personally thank them for what they do for the Chapter and Korean War Veterans. I would also like everyone to be aware that our chapter has a Facebook page on the internet which you can find at the following link: www.facebook.com/kwvadfwchpt215. This is another great advertising tool for the purpose of passing on information to possible new members in the Korean Service age group as well as to family of war time service people. Sincerely, A.J. Key (President) SICK CALL – by Judy & Gene Richards. Please pray for the following members: Joe Arnosky, Janet Baker, Sam Bass, Richard Beard, Lavonia Dake, Marvin Dunn, Dwain Farr, Volume 15 Issue 11

The Invocation was given by President Key and was followed with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag conducted by James Sharp. Jim Lucas read the Chapter Creed followed by a moment of silence. has again paid to give out each veteran who wishes to attend four free tickets, and some of those who attended last year said it was a great time. Jim Wetmore mentioned the fact that Joe Arnosky, Bill Hoyle and Dwayne Farr were added to our sick list and all three were not doing well at this time. President Key then gave the blessing for the serving of the Hamburgers and Hot Dogs made ready by the Executive Council members.
