FACULTY - STAFF and FRIENDS CMS welcomed two new members of the CMS faculty this winter. Alicia Cantalupo, violin, and Elaine Martin, flute, were appointed to serve. Alicia received her Bachelor of Music, violin performance, from Peabody Conservatory of Music. Elaine, former principal flute with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra for nearly 30 years received her Bachelor of Music Education, summa cum laude, from Temple University. Welcome! During the month of February we sent our sincere wishes to Linda L. Kistler, violin, and husband, Geoffrey Corell, who were injured in a serious car accident. Also in March, Dolores ‘Dolly’ Czarnecki had foot surgery and in May was hospitalized with another health issue. Percussion teacher, Jon Maury’s, wife, Sandy, suffered a stroke in March. Thankfully, all have fully recovered. We sent get-well wishes to Allan Cole, our technical support, who had back surgery in May…he is up and back to business as usual. So glad you are better! We extend our sincere condolences to Rachel Ferer Hosterman and husband Matt on the passing of Rachel’s dad in June. We extended our wishes for much success in future endeavors as we said our goodbye to Barbara Ballard who left CMS for a full-time position in Philadelphia this past May and to Chet Brown who left CMS after a brief teaching time at CMS. Chet’s day time job with the Performing High School and performance gigs has him very busy.

In May we also welcomed back summer intern, Nate Kleinschuster! Glad to have you back with us. STUDENT OF THE MONTH Student of the month for January was Steven Wroge, violin student of Kate Uhler and February was John Yu, clarinet student of Cliff Tracy. March saw Ramiyah McCoy, guitar and voice student of Josh Klein become CMS’ Student of the Month. Joseph Hall, trumpet and guitar, student of Matthew Nieznay and Josh Klein, was April Student of the Month. As an aside, all these students received high scores during the Gala Audition. A NOTE ON SOME OF DR. SATUREN’S STUDENT ACTIVITIES. Long-time piano student, Niki Bottoni, will be majoring in music production at New York University this fall. Niki also studied guitar under the direction of Dr. Richard Metzger. Many good wishes for a great future to a talented young lady! ….Currently, Jocelyn Williamson is managing a Papa John’s pizza restaurant when not practicing piano and this past June, Joe Polizzotto helped build a home for a lowincome family in Costa Rico.
