TUESDAY, NOV. 11TH  CONGRATS TO OUR SCHOOL WINNERS for the MSHSAA Sportsmanship Essay Contest!  1st  Place: Lauren Kriewitz­7th grade; 2nd Place: Julie Barclay­8th Grade; 3rd Place: Blake Thomas­8th  Grade.  Lauren's essay will now advance and represent South Harrison at the Northwest District  MSHSAA essay competition!    JR HIGH SCIENCE OLYMPIAD will have an organizational practice today after school in Mrs.  Bowman's room until 4:15 pm.     ATTN. ALL TEACHERS/STAFF:  A group picture of ALL South Harrison Middle School & High School  staff will be taken in the gym TOMORROW morning (Wed) at 7:45 am.  Wear something purple!    SMOKEBUSTERS WILL MEET Thursday, Nov. 13th at 7:40 am in Mrs. Henry's room.     DUAL HISTORY STUDENTS who are going on the Washington DC trip in April need to meet in Mrs.  Harding's room (117) Friday morning, Nov. 14th at 7:45 am.   STUDENT ADVISOR TO THE BOARD:  The South Harrison County R­II Board of Education  recognizes the unique perspectives held by students on issues impacting the school district.  Therefore, the Board is now taking applications for a high school junior to serve as a non­voting  advisor to the Board.  The term will begin January 1st each year and end on December 31st of the  same year.  All interested JUNIORS who wish to apply need to pick up an application packet in the  high school office.  Applications are due on Monday, Dec. 1st by 3:10 pm in the high school office.   SUPPORT THE WRESTLING TEAM BY CLEANING YOUR CLOSET!!  The wrestlers have 2 bins at  Hy­Vee that take clothes and shoes.  Anything donated goes towards a fundraiser for them. SHHS  Wrestling Team will receive money for every pound of material donated.  All you have to do is open the  bin and drop in your unwanted stuff.  Resolution Reuse is the coordinating company. ALL donations  would be greatly appreciated!    ATTN. ROYALS FANS!!   Raffle tickets are being sold for a Billy Butler Game Bat to be given away  at the November 25th home varsity basketball game.  Bat is officially signed by Billy Butler and tickets  are $1.00 each or six for $5.00  All proceeds will benefit the Jr/Sr After­Prom party.  Contact Cindy  Anthony, Robin Nail, Ginger Briggs or Jenny Hammond to purchase tickets.     SPORTS UPDATE:  *Tonight, 11/11 ­­ Jr High Basketball @ HOME vs Princeton ­­ 4:30 start, 4 games  *Thursday, 11/13 ­­ Jr High Basketball @ Gallatin ­­ 4:30 start, bus leaves @ 3:15  *Saturday, 11/15 ­­ Varsity Basketball Jamboree @ HOME vs 4 teams, 3:00 pm start    CHESS CLUB MEETS ON WEDNESDAYS......in Mrs. Garrett's room (103).  Bring a friend!  Get a  treat!  Reminder:  We work the concession stand on 11/15 (this Saturday) starting at 2:30 pm.    JUNIORS & SENIORS:  A representative from Central Methodist University will be visiting on Monday,  Nov. 17th during 4th period.  All juniors and seniors interested in attending the presentation should  sign up in Ms. Neal's office by November 14th..  (*All attendance and grades will be checked to  determine eligibility to attend college representative presentations.
