Final football game almost here for senior It seems like only yesterday I was getting thrown around at practice by the seniors, doing my best to help the starters train for the state championship against O’Gorman. After having our last practice on the field that has become a second home to me for the last time a few days ago, the realization really hit me that my high school football days are nearly over. During my junior year, we faced off against Brandon Valley. Though I dismissed it at Hear me. . . the time, I can vividly remember the seniors tearing up after that Trevor Burkhart game, telling me how quickly my last season would go, and to enjoy every little thing while it happened. Now, as we prepare for our third consecutive championship game, all the realizations of the last four seasons have come crashing down. Not to mention the pressure of a win streak and a potential third ring, as well. But frankly, I try not to be nervous, and to just focus and prepare for it as much as I can. I’ve found that the best way to cope with the pressure is to just trust who I’m around. Trust the coaches, trust my teammates, trust our practice, and most especially, to trust myself. When we leave the field every day, game or practice, knowing that we gave 100 percent to the brotherhood is the best reassurance I feel. It’s another game, and another thing we have to prepare for. I trust all of my brothers on the team to do the same, and now the time has come to get it done and finish strong. Senior Trevor Burkart is pumped for one last Warrior game.

Google Pixel 2 XL almost perfect By Jim Rossman The Dallas Morning News (TNS) The pressure on smartphone manufacturers must be intense. Every year they are tasked with upping the ante on last year’s phone. Sometimes they radically change the design, like Apple did this year with the iPhone X, but other times the upgrade seems more incremental, meaning key features get an upgrade, but the overall look and feel are not entirely new.

Technology Watch Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL don’t have a radical new design—in fact, they look a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. What Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL do have going for them are features that can keep up with any phone on the market and the best Android software experience on the planet. A lot has been written about the screen on the Pixel 2 XL. Where it fails is the screen. I’d heard there were some complaints about image burn-in and screen colorations. I was really surprised to find the screen shifts to a bluish tint when you view it at any angle other than straight-on. The blue cast is not as visible when viewing color photos, but it’s very visible when looking at a page with a white background. Indeed, for a phone that can cost upwards of $1,000 after taxes, I was really disappointed in the screen. Side-by-side comparisons with the iPhone 8 Plus and Galaxy Note 8 easily showed the Pixel 2 XL well behind competitors in screen image quality.
