● Reminder: The Ravenna School District now uses the online data management system Final Forms for the 2017-18 school paperwork. We need all parents to please complete the Final Forms emergency forms online as soon as possible. If parents have not received an email from Final Forms for account confirmation, please contact the BMS office at 330-296-3849 with your student’s name and your email address. If you have any questions, please contact the BMS office. ● School Picture Day is coming up on Wednesday, September 27th, and will run from about 8:00a.m. - 10:30a.m. Order forms went home with students in enhancement. If you did not receive one, please ask your enhancement teacher for a picture form or there are extras outside the BMS office or you can print one from the BMS Announcements page of the website and put it in an envelope with the money for your child to hand to the photographer on picture day. ● Brown Middle School will host Football Frenzy 2017 on September 29 for Brown Middle School students starting right after school and ending at the Ravenna High School football game. There will be a dance from 3:00pm-5:00pm in the BMS gym, then a hot dog dinner in the cafeteria immediately following, then a bus ride to the Ravenna High School Stadium to watch the football game. Parents will need to pick up their students at Ravenna Stadium at the end of the game about 9:00pm. The cost for the dance, dinner, football ticket and bus ride is $8.00. You must turn in a signed permission slip with your money by Sept. 28 in order to attend. Permission slips are available outside the BMS office and can be printed from the BMS Announcements page of the website. ● Brown Middle School’s Fall Fundraiser runs through September 25. All Brown Middle School students are selling cookie dough, tumblers, and magazines. Simply fill out the order form and pay by cash or check made out to Brown Middle School. You may also shop online at www.gaschoolstore.com and use our online code: 609453; shop 24/7 and pay by credit card. Shop from over 1,000 different products that deliver directly to your home! Our school makes 40% profit on purchases. If you are supporting a

specific student at Brown, please be sure to enter the student’s name when prompted. If you do not know a student, just hit skip this step. Thank you for your support! ● Attention 8th Graders: Please turn in your Maplewood permission slips to your enhancement teacher as soon as possible. The permission slips are due Friday, September 29th. If you did not receive a permission slip, they are available in front of the BMS office or you can print one from the Announcements page of the Brown Middle School website. ● Reed Memorial Library is holding a “Fall Images” Teen Art Contest from now through September 30th. Teens may submit up to five original photographs or drawings for display in the library. This is a great opportunity to show off your artistic skills! Artwork must be submitted by September 30th to Reed Memorial Library. Stop in the BMS office for an entry form if interested. ● Mrs. Hudock’s class is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House this year. They will be collecting pop tabs all year, and they can be turned in to your first period teacher or to the BMS office. Mrs. Hudock’s class is trying to collect 5000 tabs by Christmas, so bring in those pop tabs to help the Ronald McDonald House, a nonprofit organization which supports families whose children receive treatment at area medical centers by providing a home-like environment and essential resources and services. ● Please remember to check the Lost and Found table outside the office if you have lost any items. The table will be cleaned off every couple weeks, so please be sure to check the table frequently. If you have lost small items like keys, jewelry, or glasses, see Mrs. Kornbau in the office. ● Attention students and families: NEOMED is offering a Medical-Student-Run, Free Clinic offering services such as primary care, physical exams, prescriptions for medications, and regular routine care. The free clinic will be run by a dedicated group of NEOMED medicine and pharmacy students, and will be overseen by a trained family physician. They are open Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. For more information, please see our school nurse or the guidance office. Upcoming dates for the clinic are: October 7, November 4, and December 9. Appointments are preferred, walk-ins welcome on primary care dates only.

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS: ● There will be a Builders Club meeting on Monday, September 25, from 3:00pm-4:00pm in room 212. Please have a way home at 4:00pm.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS: ● The 2017 Ravenna Youth Wrestling Club will hold Open Mats and sign-ups on Thursdays in September and October from 6pm-7pm at Ravenna High School for

6th grade students interested in wrestling for the club this year. Please stop in the BMS office for more information and a registration form. ● Basketball Open Gyms will be held Mondays and Wednesdays (September 20 and 27) in the Ravenna High School gyms for any Boys & Girls in grades 3-12 interested in playing basketball.
