● Reminder: The Ravenna School District now uses the online data management system Final Forms for the 2017-18 school paperwork. We need all parents to please complete the Final Forms emergency forms online as soon as possible. If parents have not received an email from Final Forms for account confirmation, please contact the BMS office at 330-296-3849 with your student’s name and your email address. If you have any questions, please contact the BMS office. ● This week is Spirit Week. Show your school spirit! The themes for the rest of the week are: Thursday, September 14 - Pajama Day Friday, September 15 - Spirit Wear Day - wear your Raven colors ● The Ravenna Balloon A-Fair Children’s Parade will be held tonight at 6:30p.m. in downtown Ravenna. Information flyers about the Children’s Parade are went home in enhancement classes and are available in the BMS office. ● Attention BROWN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS: The Balloon-A-Fair Grand Parade will be held Saturday, September 16, in downtown Ravenna. We invite all BMS students to join our float for the parade. We will meet at the Sports Express parking lot at 8:00am. The parade begins promptly at 9:00am. We go down Main Street until the parade ends on Sycamore Street. The parade float is judged, and we are in competition with various schools and organizations. We need your enthusiasm and participation to help us win! You will either be asked to ride in the float or walk behind our float helping to pass out candy. If you can participate, you must wear black or fluorescent colored clothes. If you do not have those colors, you can wear your spirit wear. We hope that you join us. ● Mrs. Hudock’s class is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House this year. They will be collecting pop tabs all year, and they can be turned in to your first period teacher or to the BMS office. Mrs. Hudock’s class is trying to collect 5000 tabs by Christmas, so bring in those pop tabs to help the Ronald McDonald House, a nonprofit

organization which supports families whose children receive treatment at area medical centers by providing a home-like environment and essential resources and services. ● Attention students and families: NEOMED is offering a Medical-Student-Run, Free Clinic offering services such as primary care, physical exams, prescriptions for medications, and regular routine care. the free clinic will be run by a dedicated group of NEOMED medicine and pharmacy students, and will be overseen by a trained family physician. They are open Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. For more information, please see our school nurse or the guidance office. Upcoming dates for the clinic are: October 7, November 4, and December 9. Appointments are preferred, walk-ins welcome on primary care dates only. ● Reed Memorial Library is holding a “Fall Images” Teen Art Contest from now through September 30th. Teens may submit up to five original photographs or drawings for display in the library. This is a great opportunity to show off your artistic skills! Artwork must be submitted by September 30th to Reed Memorial Library. Stop in the BMS office for an entry form if interested. ● Please remember to check the Lost and Found table outside the office if you have lost any items. The table will be cleaned off every couple weeks, so please be sure to check the table frequently. If you have lost small items like keys, jewelry, or glasses, see Mrs. Kornbau in the office.

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS:  ● There will be a Student Council meeting today from 3:00pm-4:00pm in the cafeteria. You must have a way home at 4:00pm. ● Anyone still interested in applying for Yearbook Club: Yearbook Club Applications are due to Mrs. Kornbau by the end of the day today. There are a limited number of positions, and students will be notified next week if accepted. ● The Brown Middle School Book Club will have its first meeting of the new school year on Wednesday, September 20, in the BMS Library from 3:00pm-4:00pm Any student wishing to participate in Book Club must pick up an application in the BMS Library and have it signed and returned on or before the first meeting. The BMS Book Club meets once a month. Students must have transportation home or be able to walk home promptly at 4:00pm. We look forward to some fun activities and to reading some great books this year. Any questions, please stop in the BMS library to to talk to Mr. Petrosino or Mrs. Paolucci.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS: ● The 2017 Ravenna Youth Wrestling Club will hold Open Mats and sign-ups on Thursdays in September and October from 6pm-7pm at Ravenna High School for

6th grade students interested wrestling for the club this year. Please stop in the BMS office for more information and a registration form. ● Basketball Open Gyms will be held Mondays and Wednesdays (September 10, 13, 17, 20, and 27) in the Ravenna High School gyms for any Boys & Girls in grades 3-12 interested in playing basketball.
