Parents, when you bring your children to school in the mornings please drop them off at the Kiss-n-Go area by the K-1 playground. Beginning at 7:45 in the morning, a Sunset staff person is at the door from the K-1 playground to let your student into the school. The bus lane, the area in front of the building is designated for buses only. We designate these two areas for their specific purpose for the safety of our students. Thank you! While we are all eagerly awaiting the warmer temperature of Spring, winter is still here. Per Park County School District policy, students go outside to recess unless the temperature, including wind chill, is below 5 degrees. Please send your student to school dressed for the weather!!
And a few thoughts about your student lunch accounts and payments. Please make sure that when your student brings money for their lunch account that it contains the students’ name. Also, Park County School District 6 is not in a position to extend lines of credit for school meals. Please make sure that your student’s lunch account balance is not at or below 0. Students can either bring money to the front office for lunch or you can create an account at My School Bucks, from the Park 6 website. You can place money in your students’ account electronically and set reminders to let you know when it is getting low. Please call Sunset at 587-4279 if you need help in setting up the accounts.

Thank you for the amazing food drive in December! Sunset kids collected 1,813 items, and the 2-3 Hallway won the competition. Thank you for participating in the PTO Cody Coffee Roaster fundraiser and supporting our school.
Just an early reminder, February is dental health month. Dental screenings will be Monday, Feb. 6. Thanks to Dr. Reusch and Dr. Hill for volunteering their time at our school. Please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Smith, if you do not want your child to participate in the screenings.
The City of Cody has an aluminum can recycling contest in which Cody schools can participate. Schools are credited throughout the school year for any aluminum cans turned into the Cody Recycling Center. Sunset families can help with this by turning in any aluminum cans to the Recycling Center. Please put the school name on them to identify them as coming from Sunset. Schools will then receive a check for the amount of aluminum cans that were turned in.
